Their Challenge

The Blue Man Group wanted to promote holiday packages through email campaigns for the Universal Orlando Resort performance location. They faced the challenge of ensuring that the recipients of the emails were important figures in their company and, most importantly, decision-makers for company-related events and outings. They partnered with LMS to communicate with companies with 15 or more employees in select Florida counties. The email campaign contained discounted holiday package plans that the client put together specifically for businesses. Blue Man Productions is a global entertainment company best known for the award-winning Blue Man Group show with its universal appeal to all age groups and cultural backgrounds.

LMS identified the appropriate business contacts based on their job title. We also utilized data such as Business Owner Link (BOL), length of time in business, and sales volume in targeted contacts. We combined this with consumer data from the BOL, including the presence of children, exact age, gender, and interest in athletics to further narrow down the list to ensure we were targeting the ideal prospects.

Our Process

LMS identified email addresses of managers, including C-Level, for businesses in Florida. Counties included Brevard, Hillsborough, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, and Volusia. LMS tested content and deliverability to various email client inboxes prior to executing the campaigns to ensure emails were angled towards success.
LMS provided total email broadcasting services including HTML programming to prepare the emails for broadcast, receiving offer and branding assets from Blue Man Group. There were five email broadcasts sent to 27,904 prospects each.

Their Results

Through the email campaign, Blue Man Group reached the desired decision-makers within the targeted businesses. The broadcasts included 16,789 C-Level prospects and produced between a 13-15 percent open rate and click/open ratio. LMS used the results to compile a database of known responders, allowing future broadcasts to be targeted even more effectively. Blue Man Productions found the email broadcasts so successful that they now run the campaign annually.
