Key Coding

Keycodes are alphanumeric codes appended to each record in a file to identify the name with a particular group, such as its source. Keycodes are useful to track the response success of a particular list for future marketing.

Sequencing

Sequence numbers are numeric ID's assigned to each name in a mailing to uniquely match the name back to the mailing database from which it originated. This unique ID allows a mailer to fulfill orders, update or delete database addresses or record responder results without extensive data entry. Sequence numbers can also be represented by a barcode on the media piece thus allowing for automated fulfillment processing using barcode scanners.

Record Selections

Records in a file can be selected and pulled for a mailing using specific selection criteria, such as geography. Record Selection is useful for pulling names from an online database or omitting specific names from a mailing list. Nth Selection is a form of Record Selection used to pull a random sampling of records for test mailings, or to decrease the mail count to a set number of names.

File Segmentation

File Segmentation separates a mailing into smaller pieces or splits based on a characteristic of the record. Segmentation is commonly used to separate records destined for different mail pieces, or to split a large mailing into successively scheduled drops.

Laser Data Services

List Management Services offers a series of computer processes designed to prepare data for laser letter output. Style Enhancement converts data to Upper-Lower case, expands common abbreviations, and inserts appropriate punctuation. Genderization assigns "Mr." or "Ms." Prefixes for formal addressing and greetings. Salutation Appending creates "Dear…" greeting lines with a choice of formal or informal styles.
